Ultimate Mock (Round 2 Continued)

49. San Diego Chargers (Onebar) – Dwayne Allen TE, Clemson
To good of value to pass on. Gates is getting into the twighlight of his career. Adding Allen will add more weapons for Rivers and be able to be groomed to take over for the future hall of famer Gates.

50. Chicago Bears (Lupagus) – Rueben Randle WR, LSU
Bears passed on a first round receiver, meaning it is almost a must they go WR in round 2. Randle is a very athletic receiver who could push to be the Bears number 1 receiver in his rookie year.

51. Philadelphia Eagles (Lomas)- Antonio Allen S South Carolina
There are two real options here, reach for an OLB or grab a safety for good value, I think they will go for the latter.  Allen is a rangy guy who I think compares well to a poor man’s Polamalu and can be all over the field ball hawking and hitting BC’s.

52. Tennessee Titans (Onebar) – Brandon Brooks G, Miami (OH)
The Titans offensive line did much better than expected this past season. But still room for improvement and they are in much need of some depth along the line.

53. Cincinnati Bengals (Lupagus) – Jamell Fleming CB, Oklahoma
With the abundance of solid corners this year the Bengals should be able to fill a need at corner in round 2. Fleming has somehow flown under the radar early in the draftseason.

54. Atlanta Falcons (Lomas)- Orson Charles TE Georgia
Ranked at number 30 on my big board, Charles fills a need and is a steal here. Charles can alternate snaps with a future HoF TE, and can develop into another explosive weapon for Matt Ryan. If anyone says that the Falcons have bigger needs on defense, I would refer them to the playoff loss where they only scored two points.

55. Detroit Lions (Onebar) – Levy Adcock OT, Oklahoma St.
Lions need to continue to beef up their offensive line. Unless a solid outside linebacker falls to them in round 2 look for them to go bpa.

56. Pittsburgh Steelers (Lupagus) – Alameda Ta’Amu DT, Washington
With Chris Hoke retiring and Casey Hampton old and injured the Steelers will be in the market for a new nose tackle.

57. Denver Broncos (Lomas)- Brandon Thompson DT Clemson
Thompson can give the Broncos more power and quickness in the middle. While he won’t have the sack production of a Klug or Atkins, he will get some sacks. More importantly he will demand extra attention and occupy lineman at the LoS, which will help Dumerville and Miller look even better.

58. Houston Texans (Onebar) – Joe “The Jet” Adams WR, Arkansas
Adams is seen as a Welker type slot player in the NFL. Would almost be the perfect number 2 to put with Johnson.

59. New Orleans Saints (Lupagus) – Bobby Wagner LB, Utah St.
The Saints need an infusion of youth at linebacker and Wagner really helped himself with a fine showing down in Mobile.

60. Green Bay Packers (Lomas)- Fletcher Cox DT/DE Miss. State
Cox is not a household name but he gets the job done. He can hold the edge and can cause pressure in one on one situations. He also is scheme flexible enough to play (pass rushing) DT or (run-stuffing) DE in a 4-3 scheme if the Pack wants to play mind games with their opponents.

61. Baltimore Ravens (Onebar) Mike Brewster C Ohio St.
Birk has not decided if he will retire yet, even if he doesn’t it is time to start looking for his long term replacement.

62. San Fransisco 49ers (Lupagus) – Ronnell Lewis LB Oklahoma
Lewis is a wild card, he is the type of player well worth an early 2nd round pick but could get lost in the shuffle. Has the ability to play a number of positions.

63. New York Giants (Lomas)- Coby Fleener TE Stanford
Fleener is one of the new generation of true hybrid TEs. He has substantially improved the blocking portion of his game, and he is easily one of the best catching TEs in this year’s draft. The Giants have some decent TEs already, but Fleener is a star.

64. New England Patriots (Onebar) Vinny Curry LB, Marshall
Curry is just the type of two dimensional defensive player the Pats would love to add. It is no secret the Pats need serious help on their pass rushing attack.
