Plan of Attack: The Rams enter the 2012 NFL Draft with a ton of needs and with 4 picks in the top 66 should be able to bring in some starters for the upcoming season.  They already enter this draft as winners having acquired a king’s ransom from the Reskins so they could move up and get RG3.  They now sit at the sixth spot and will take the best player who falls to them.  The most likely guy they’ll see there is Oklahoma St. WR Justin Blackmon.  The team needs to find quality weapons for Sam Bradford to throw to and Blackmon is the best in the draft this year.  He is a big  physical target who is great after the catch.  He’d be the go to guy for Bradford.  If  Blackmon is gone, and the Vikings moronicaly pass on Kalil, they could take him and along with Rodger Saffold, have one of the better young lines in the league.

The Rams have two early picks in round 2 and will look for first round talents that have fallen through the cracks.  The Rams have needs everywhere so basically any position is a possibility.  They could find real good value at defensive tackle with  guys like Jerel Worthy, Kendall Reyes, or Devon Still being available.  They may also find Lavonte David who is one of the better 4-3 linebackers in this draft around, or they could go secondary and look at a safety like Harrison Smith or a corner like Janoris Jenkins.  If they don’t get Blackmon in the first, they could go with Stephen Hill if he falls, or LSU’s Rueben Randle.  The team could also be interested in a running back as Steven Jackson is approaching 30 and has a bunch of miles on his legs.  Doug Martin, David Wilson, and Lamar Miller could all get long second round looks.

Assuming the Rams go WR, DT, and LB then they may look to beef up their offensive line in the third.  They could go with a tackle like CAL’s Mitchell Schwartz or maybe go with a swing man like James Brown from Troy or Jeff Allen from Illinois if he trickles down to the third.  They could also address their secondary with a safety like Antonio Allen or a corner like Jayron Hosley.  The Rams may go with a back here as well if they’ve yet to land one, and could choose between LaMichael James, Chris Polk, or Isaiah Pead.
