Lamar Miller NFL Draft | Running Back Miami

Name: Lamar Miller

Ideal Position: Every down running back
Measurements: 5-11 214 lbs
School: Miami (FL)

-1272 yards rushing this year, and has 5.6 yards per carry. Considering that he played against Ohio State, Kansas State, Virginia Tech, UNC, Georgia Tech, Florida State and Boston College that is quite an accomplishment.

-Miller has great change of direction abilities. Often a linebacker will fill the hole that he is trying to run through, but before he gets touched he jukes to the side and gets north and south almost immediately.

-When he goes out for a screen pass he turns his hips towards the QB, which will be something defenses recognize immediately in the NFL.

-Very good acceleration in the backfield and that lets him easily run through arm tackles.

-Miller is still young and has a lot to learn and a huge amount of upside which will make him more valuable than some of the more experienced backs in this draft.

-He shows the ability to stay in and block against smaller rushers, while knowing when he needs to cut a defender because he is too small.

-Even when his blockers get beaten he never gives up on a play and seems to have the drive to perform.

-While Miller doesn’t have the strength of Trent Richardson, or the pure speed of a Chris Johnson he will be a great value as the 2nd or 3rd best RB and is a great all around player. Any team that doesn’t make a play for an RB in FA or in the top ten of this draft would be lucky to get a young talent like Miller. Top 15 pick, possible destinations: Detroit, Arizona, Cleveland, Tampa Bay

About Will Lomas

Grew up in a town in Tennessee named Dyersburg, and played ball there. When I realized I was too small to play college ball, I found my passion in breaking down game film, analyzing athletes, and finding the little things that decides whether a player is good, bad, or great.
