Name: Alfonzo Dennard

Measurements: 5-10 204 lbs.
School: Nebraska
-Dennard is a special athlete that is only limited by his height. He can play safety or corner, and could excel at either. With Prince Amukamara (19th overall pick in the NFL draft last year) as the other CB at Nebraska last year, pass happy teams tried to take advantage of Dennard, which was a costly mistake.
-Dennard has tight coverage skills and grades better in my opinion than the aforementioned Amukamara. He will occasionally give a large cushion to receivers that allows him to get beat on slants, but at the college level he makes up for that with his athleticism.
-Dennard’s main drawback is his height and the matchup with Alshon Jeffry in their bowl game could either make or break his draft stock.
-A huge plus is that he doesn’t seem to get lost in crossing routes which will mess up an offense’s 3rd down play calling.
-Doesn’t seem to very active at the line of scrimmage and doesn’t jam receivers which could limit his team selection.
-Dennard has huge upside and could be a steal if he is coached well. For example if the Giants took him and paired him up with his former partner in crime he would thrive.
-Doesn’t get out of position when a QB scrambles and does a good job covering the outlet receiver.
-Overall Dennard has all the physical tools to play at a high level in the NFL except for his height while I don’t think that it will pull him out of the first 16, it does probably drop him out of the top 10. He could prove to be a more athletic Finnegan from the Titans with a more versatile skill set. Top 16 pick. Possible destinations NYG, Titans, Dallas, Tampa, Pittsburgh.
