Trent Richardson NFL Draft | Running Back Alabama

Name: Trent Richardson NFL Draft
Ideal Position: Every down back
Measurements: 5-11 224 lbs.
School: Alabama

-Richardson is the highest ranked RB in this year’s class, and is drawing favorable comparisons to Vikings RB Adrian Peterson.

-Richardson is a tough runner, and is a load to bring down. Will lower his shoulder vs any position. Shows no fear which is a huge plus going into the NFL.

-Very good balance even while getting hit. Does a good job shifting and turning to get defenders off of him.

-Hits like a LB, gets under a defender’s pads, and runs through him. The longer the game goes on you can see the impact it has on opponents because they try to ankle tackle him so that they don’t get knocked.

-Amazing vision, he sees cutback lanes before they are there and when he sees something he plants his foot, cuts that way, and explodes through it.

-Not a pure burner, but has enough speed that defenders have to take good angles and even then he may stiff arm them

-Does a good job using his frame to shield the ball which, combined with his pure strength, gives him very good ball security

-While Richardson has top 5 talent RBs are not a hot commodity in this day and age, and rarely go in the top 10. If a team falls in love with him like Cleveland, they could take him at 4 other than that he will probably fall out of the top 10. Possible destinations: Tampa Bay, Cleveland, Kansas City, Chicago, Denver, Seattle

About Will Lomas

Grew up in a town in Tennessee named Dyersburg, and played ball there. When I realized I was too small to play college ball, I found my passion in breaking down game film, analyzing athletes, and finding the little things that decides whether a player is good, bad, or great.
