Name: Michael Floyd NFL Draft
Ideal Position: #1 Wide Receiver
Measurements: 6-3 225 lbs.
School: Notre Dame
- Floyd doesn’t get the attention he deserves let me throw out his career stats 271 rec. 3686 receiving yards, and 37 touchdowns. Aside from his stellar stats, on the field Floyd is everything you could ask for in a wide receiver.
-Floyd has incredibly soft hands and uses his massive frame to pluck the ball out of the air if it even gets close to him.
-Great awareness when his team needs a first down or when he needs to stretch out for TDs. Speaking of awareness, on goal line plays he always seems to know how to fake the defender to get him out of position. If he can’t to that he does a good job going over the defender’s back to make the catch.
-When you talk about spectacular ball skills he has got to be number 2, only behind Alshon. He has had multiple catches where he just sticks a single hand out and plucks the ball out from thin air.
-Will probably run the 40 in a mid 4.5 but still he is so good at separating when the ball gets close that a lack of straight-line speed should not affect his stock.
-Floyd has good moves after the catch and is a strong runner. Similar to Blackmon, he rarely will be stopped by an arm tackle and will almost always compete for extra yards.
-Now his one glaring con, he has been arrested not once but twice on issues with alcohol, which will scare some teams away.
-With the arrest issue some teams may be scared, but he has been great in the community while also playing at an amazing level on the field. If he can go to a team with a solid locker room and a good head coach he could be very productive and could help improve any passing attack. Top 15. Possible destinations: Tennessee, Chicago, Rams (in a trade down scenario), Seattle
