Draftseason’s offensive rookie of Wild Card Weekend was Houston Texans QB TJ Yates.  Yates outdueled fellow rookie Andy Dalton as he threw for 152 Yds, and a TD in the Texans historic victory over the Bengals.

Draftseason’s defensive rookie of Wild Card Weekend also comes from the Houston Texans.  JJ Watt was an absolute beast in the Texans’ big win.  He was constantly harrassing Dalton and  had 2 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 amazing interception that he returned for a game changing touchdown.

Draftseason’s offensive rookie of week 17 was the man the Falcons gave up a fortune for.  Julio Jones was a catalyst in the Falcons domination of the Bucs as he caught 4 balls for 76 yards and two scores, helping the Falcons to the NFC’s 5th seed.

Draftseason’s defensive rookie of the final week of the 2011 season, was Kansas City Chiefs OLB Justin Houston.  Houston lead the Chiefs defense with 7 tackles and also had a sack and a half in their win over the rival Broncos.

Draftseason’s defensive rookie of the week is a 6th round pick out of South Florida.  Minnesota Vikings safety Mistral Raymond made the team’s first interception in roughly three months when he picked off Sexy Rexy in the Vikings somewhat surprisng win at Washington.  Raymond also was in on 6 tackles.

We dont’ normally pick players from losing teams for these awards, but this week’s Defensive Rookie of the Week’s performance was so good we had no choice.  Washington Redskins’ OLB Ryan Kerrigan had 6 tackles, 2 sacks, and two forced fumbles, as the Redskins lost again, this time to the hapless Miami Dolphins.
