Discussion

  1. Mstewart9 :

A brief comment on the Giants mock draft selections. You have the Giants drafting 2 Cornerbacks and a safety, but no OL?????????

  2. DaveWilk :

I appreciate you doing all 7 rounds — very cool. I am disappointed, however, that you don’t have the Texans taking a LB at all, neither ILB or OLB/edge rusher. They need to address losing DeMeco Ryans and I believe they need depth at OLB with Mario Williams leaving. I realize they have two good players there already, but you can never have too many pass rushers. Thanks a lot, and keep up the good work!

  3. TigerJ :

I don’t think it’s a bad mock draft from the perspective of the Buffalo Bills, but I think it is more likely that the Bills will draft at least one cornerback than two defensive ends. They also might try and pick up another (second) linebacker in this draft, perhaps instead of a second offensive tackle.

  4. RGThree :

Man, you absolutely NAILED the Redskins draft. You even recognized Shanahan’s man-crush on Rainey during the Senior Bowl. Nice work.

  5. Mstewart9 :

First of all, you need to have the draft order correctly. Using the Giants mock draft for example you have them drafting at #32/#64/#96/#128/#160/#190/#223. When it should be #32/#63/#94/#127/#131/#167/#201/#239.
Next you have the Giants drafting the following:
    1.Mo Sanu
    2.Doug Martin
    3.Coryell Judie
    4.Michael Egnew
    5. Justin Bethel
    6. Philip Thomas
    7. Jamie Blatnick.

Although anything is possible and I certainly do not a crystal ball as reference, but I think your picks have many question marks.
    1. Mo Sanu (WR): WR is not a major need dispite the loss of Mario Manningham who was a 3rd option at the WR position. I can see the Giants drafting a WR in the draft, but not until the mid to later rounds.
    2. Doug Martin (WR): Great player, but I doubt he will be available at #63. Would love to have him.
    3. Coryell Judie (CB): Another gifted player who had problems with injuries in college that hurt his draft status. Another player I would like to see the Giants draft.
    4. Michael Egnew (TE): This is where you made your errors having the Giants only drafting once in the 4th round at #128 where they drafting at #127 and #131. Egnew is good, but there are better option available still on the board.
    5. Justin Bethel (CB): I can not see the Giants drafting 2 CB’s in this draft especially re-signing 3 of their own
    6. Philip Thomas (S): Again, drafting a Safety after signing 2 free agent safeties doesn’t make sense. Also, Chad Jones will be competing for a roster spot and reports are that he is nearly 85% ready.
    7. Jamie Blatnick (DE): Blatnick is not a bad player, but if the Giants do draft a DE (and I believe they will) expect them to draft a DE someway before the 5th round.

Your mock draft is not bad, but you need to make sure that you’re accurate. Not having the draft selections in order and not having the compensatory pick is bad.

    • Matt Falk :

Thanks for reading. We’ll agree to disagree, I tend to have the Giants going more BPA than for need, I think they have that luxury. Also as noted on the page this order is (pre compensatory picks).
